Thank you everyone who worked German Fest. Another year done; it was pretty close to last year Thurs. and Fri. busy, Rain off and on Sat. night and Sun. So many vendors and every year we make less money but the space rental goes up. The report will be available at the board meeting and the dinner meeting

Thank you to all that also worked the corn stand. It was a good year at the fair we received a check for $1556.80 from the other WB Lions Club.

Enjoy a quiet month of September before the nut sales start.

Thank You social committee for all your hard work planning a great July picnic! Thanks also for doing the August joint picnic with the other club. I know it will be fabulous as well.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, finding time to relax with family and friends.

Meadowbrook Bingo was well attended by 30 resident players. They all had a good time playing and enjoyed the refreshments. We were given many grateful thanks at the end of the night. I thank all the members who helped with this service project in some way!

Thank you everyone for trying something new. Your hard work resulted in a great success! The fish fry sold 243 tickets, we served 223. Profits were in the $2000.00 area. $900 of that was from the raffle, Thank you Diane. An official report will be done by the June meeting. Customers were happy and would like to see us do it again.

Reminder Meadowbrook Bingo is Wed the 31st. If you are working be there at 6:15. Remember to bring your prizes if you signed up.

2017 Scholarships

Two of the “Lioness Lion Girls of the Month” that we honored all school year have been randomly chosen to receive $500 scholarships. Lioness Lion, Angie Thornburg, presents checks to Maggie Kieser from West Bend East High School on the left and Kerewyn Cass from West Bend West High School on the right.

On May 12 we held our Fish Fry Fundraiser to raise funds to build a fishing deck and buy a bench for Ridge Run Park. It was held at the VFW Post in West Bend and was a night of wonderful fellowship, good food and fun raffles.

Happy May Day! Take some time to enjoy the beauty of spring, and smile.

Nut sales for the year are mostly finished. We do have 7 boxes of nuts left in inventory. There may be a need to schedule a couple more shows to reduce inventory. To be announced. Thank you to all members for the hard work!

Lion Nancy has conducted a planting seminar at the WB Library and provided a snack from our club. This planting will then be used in June for the story hour, butterfly garden planting day. Thank you Lion Nancy!

Thank you to all who have been praying for Jim Kannenberg. The word so far is that he is doing well after his heart transplant. Keep those prayers coming!

The region meeting was attended by L Sue, L Mary Lou, Lion Diane, and L Bronwyn on March 29th. We received praise for our Legacy project idea and for the amount of service hours we put in per member on our projects. There will also be some reorganization of zones and regions. TBA.

We are marching into spring. With spring comes planting seeds of new ideas from which brings growth and change. The next 8 weeks will be getting ready for our new fish fry fund raiser. Fliers, venue, caterer, and tickets are nearly ready to go. Thank you Lion Mary Lou for all the hard work. Help will be needed to solicit businesses for raffle prizes, dessert bakers, and for workers the night of the event on Friday May 12th. Remember this hard work is for our Legacy Project in this centennial year of a fishing pier at Ridge run Park.

Happy Valentines! Remember to share some Love this month, in your personal lives and in your Lion lives.
