June News Letter 2014

It would seem that, finally, winter has let go of us and summer is on the way. The first five months of this year are over. Our year is quickly coming to an end. On June 11, we will be installing our new officers. Time to start making plans for summer activities. Club outing, Germanfest, Corn Roast and combined group picnic, to name a few.

Wow! What an exciting April we had! Most exciting was installing three new members! Welcome Laurel, Jodie and Nancy to our ranks. Ladies, let us do our best to teach them the ways of Lionism, so they can fully participate in our club, learn about what International does and support local and state needs. Most of all, let us enjoy each other, help each other and have fun together.

It is spring!? Really? Well, the calendar says so anyway. Keep thinking positive!

April is upon us and the year is flying by again. In two months we will be installing our new officers. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 11. Installation dinner will be at The Top of The Ridge with awards and installation to follow. We will be installing some new members too! Please plan on coming to welcome them into the club. February News Letter 2014

It is my sincere hope all of you are doing well this winter. It is a long one, with no end in sight for a while yet. Stay warm and safe.

In January, we took a vote to see if we wanted to join with the Lions club. The majority vote was NO. We will continue to work with them cooperatively on projects and events. District Governor Kraemer would like to know how we wish to proceed. He is offering to help us in any way he can to work on gaining new members.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!! It is hard to believe that a new year has begun. What happened to last year? Anyone else feel like that? Hope all your holidays were good!

Nut sales are done for a while now. You can still sell nuts and chocolates, Angie has the inventory list. If you would like to know what we have on hand, please contact her.

Our outing to Memories Ballroom for the “Christmas Bells” show was very enjoyable. A good time was had by all. The show was very entertaining.

Nut sales have been going well. We have already ordered more cases than ever before.
Thursday December 5 is the Serigraph sale. Saturday December 14 is the sale at Fair Park. That is our last public sale for the year. Angie will have the inventory list if you need to check before filling private orders.

November News Letter 2013

Wow! Two months left to the year of 2013. Remember when we were all worried about Y2K? Now we are staring at 2014, and we don’t even think about it!
October kicked off Nut Sales and they are off to a great start. Thank you to all of you who are working the sales. Thank you Mary Lou for ordering, thank you Irene for storing, thank you Marianne for controlling the money. Thank you all! Keep up the good work!

October News Letter 2013

Don’t know about the rest of you but, this year is going by much too fast. The colors are already turning! September was a busy month.
A number of us attended the Lions Board meeting Sept. 11. After their business was concluded, we discussed the possible merger. We compared notes on projects and fund raisers. The discussions will be on going and we look forward to the Lions joining us for our meetings.
Our dinner meeting on the 18th was fun. Thank you Sue for the delicious chicken salad and Myra for the beautiful plate of veggies and fruit.

September News Letter 2013

September already! Summer is over, unless you are going by the calendar, then we still have until the 21st. Don’t put away the sandals yet!
The picnic was a nice evening. Cold, but nice. The weather put an early end to the picnic. We had lots of great food as always. Lots of leftovers too. More on that later.
Germanfest has come and gone. Everyone put in a terrific effort. Sue Schmitt especially. Thank you to all who served in any way. The Lions came and helped as well.

August News Letter 2013

Summer is going by quickly again. It seems to go by faster and faster every year. Hope everyone is doing well and having some fun.
The 4th of July parade was a great success. The weather was good and the parade goers were friendly and happy. The Lion got lots of hugs and high fives!
Our outing to Confections for Every Occasion was fun and informative. The food was great and the company was wonderful. Definitely worth a trip back, especially if you are looking for something unusual in chocolate or candy.
